History of the Company
18 Lumber was founded by John Dobrzynski Sr. in 1965. John and his son Joe employed their cousin Ed along with other family and friends to embark on a journey to provide the community with excellent customer service with a quality product for a reasonable price.
In 1968 they were joined by John’s oldest son John Jr. and the business expanded to making free local and prompt delivery a priority that remains a major concern today.
In 1985 John Sr. passed away but not before he ensured the tradition of excellence was to be continued by his two sons. As the business grew, John brought his sons Jack and Mark into the business while Joe added his step son Todd to the family business. In 2007, after 42 years of growing the 18 lumber brand, Joe felt it was time to retire and enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Located in its original site in East Brunswick, New Jersey on route 18 north, the building has gone through several renovations. The staff still consists of family members and dedicated employees who have knowledge & expertise to help you get the quality products you need.
